The front of this striking oval locket bears a raised cartouche highlighted with opaque black enamel, and featuring a crown at the top and a heart to the bottom. A simple but telling use of symbols that the person honored within were king and queen of the wearer’s heart. The rear panel is hand engraved with stylized arum leaves framing a plain space for initials. The interior retains both fine rope twist bezels and the original touching photographs of a well dressed man & beautifully coiffed woman, the identities of whom are now lost to us.
