Ω MID VICTORIAN ROUND ENAMEL AND PEARL LOCKET CIRCA 1870
$ 3,600
This highly decorative Victorian locket from the 1870s is masterfully engraved with dramatic gold scrolls and infilled with bright cobalt blue enamel on both sides and with the front studded with five half pearls in pinched collets. The locket clips open like a fob watch to reveal interior spaces for two photos and further fine scroll engraving on the interior bezel of one locket. Satisfyingly solid 18ct yellow gold with that rich contrast of bright blue reminiscent of a Medieval illuminated manuscript.
